Registration & Login

At the top right corner fill in your email address and password you used for Friends4You and click "Login".

How to log out:

To end your Friends4You session, you can find the "Log Out" button on the top right corner of the page.
To reset your password, click on "Forgot login details" link under the login box on the right corner of the homepage. Please supply your email address and click on "Request password". We will immediately send you an email with a personal access link to your profile for renewal of your password. If you still have problems, don't hesitate to contact Friends4You support.
To register with Friends4You, fill in your email address, choose a password and accept our general terms and conditions and privacy policy. Alternatively, you can sign in with your Facebook or Google account. By clicking "submit" you will be directed to our MatchMaker test. Our MatchMaker is based on the primary aspects of your person and your lifestyle so we can find singles compatible with your wants and needs. The 3-minute test will unlock FREE access to a list of potential partners.

All of your information will not be disclosed to any third parties and will be kept confidential. For more information, see our privacy policy.
You are able to register for free on our web page, if you decide you would like to make use of Friends4You's full service, upgrade to premium (paid) membership.

All prices and payment options can be viewed if you click "Upgrade Now", which will appear on the page if you are a registered Friends4You member.
If you click on this function, you will stay logged into Friends4You until you specifically choose to log out. This means you will gain faster access to the site, even if you close your browser or shut down your computer between visits.

If you are using a public computer or sharing your computer with other people, you should avoid clicking the 'Remember me' function for security purposes. Instead, log out after visiting Friends4You.
Once you delete your profile, it cannot be recovered. When you deactivate your profile, all your personal details are removed so you will have to re-register for Friends4You.
When choosing a safe password, make sure there are capital letters and lowercase letters as well as numbers.
Under the "My Profile" section, go to "My Account" and click "notification options". There you can decide what you would like to receive from Friends4You.
To change your email address, go to "My Profile", click under "My account" and go to "Personal data". There you can edit the email address field.
To change your password, login and open "My Account Information". Under "My Details" you are able to change your password.

What should I think about when choosing my password?

Ensure that your password is sufficiently safe by choosing something neither simple nor too short. Refrain from using first or last names, addresses or other similar personal information. The password should not be part of your email address. A typically safe password contains at least five characters and consists of a combination of letters and numbers.

Every internet browser requires temporary storage, a cache, so that you are able to load a previously accessed webpage quickly from your hard drive. Here all elements of an internet site will be saved, so that they do not have to be downloaded again every time. The disadvantage is that the computer does not save changes made so it displays an old page. Set the cache on your browser to be cleared so that you are being shown the most current version of the page.

- Then delete each of 'Temporary Internet Files', 'Cookies' and 'History', clicking on 'Yes' to confirm deletion of them all.

- Ensure that the 'Always' option is selected in the 'Cache' section
- Click on 'OK' to exit.

My Profile & Photos

As a Premium member, you can view your last visitors by going to "Matches" on your profile and click "latest visitors". This is where you can view the members that are interested in your profile. This function is not available to basic users.
The profile status indicates how completely you've filled out your profile. A completed profile gives you a better chance of receiving your potential partners from Friends4You and your chances of being found and contacted by other members.
To delete your profile and cancel your membership, click on "My account" under your profile and to "manage profile". Enter you Friends4You password, tell us why you are leaving us and click the "delete profile" button in the bottom right corner of the page to confirm your cancellation. by using our simple web form, found here. Once your premium membership has been cancelled, follow the steps for non-premium members. For detailed information, please refer to our help section.

When you delete your profile all recommended partners and contacts will be deleted. Your profile will also be permanently deleted. A basic member not logged in for fifteen weeks will be contacted by email to remind them to use the site. If still inactive, the profile is deleted automatically to ensure our site only has active singles. In accordance with our general terms and conditions we cannot refund any remaining balance from a previous premium membership.
Your profile is considered complete when you have achieved 100% profile status by filling in all your personal information. Click on "About Me", "You should know" or "Lifestyle" to edit the missing details. Remember that we manually approve text and pictures before they are visible on your profile. This procedure maintains safety and quality on the site and may take up to 48 hours to complete.
The profile picture of the potential partner is already displayed. If you want to see more photos, click on "view gallery" on their page.

Deleting a photo is a simple process:

- Go to "My photos" under " My Profile".
- Click on the cross at the bottom of the image.
- A drop down option will open. Click on "delete"
Select a recent photograph of yourself. Avoid photos with hats and sunglasses so your face is visible.

The following types of photo are not allowed:

- Images that do not show the real you (e.g. celebrities, friends, cartoon characters).
- Inappropriate pictures that are sexually explicit, indecent or offensive
- Commercial photos
- Photos containing personal information (e.g. a phone number, name, address etc)
- Images of unaccompanied children or minors.

The images must also meet certain technical requirements. You can only use the following file formats: JFP, GIF, PNG and BMP. Frame size should not exceed 9.7MB and should not have less than 85 x 102 pixels. The optimal resolution is 333 x 400 pixels.

You also have the option of importing photos from Facebook which also must meet the above requirements.
If you want to add photos to your profile, go to "My photos" under " My Profile" and click "upload images". Here you can upload pictures from your computer or use the import from Facebook function.

a) Upload photos from your computer

When you click on the "Search" button in the "Add Photos" section this opens a new window where you can select pictures stored on your computer. Click "Upload".

After uploading your picture will appear in a separate window. Here you may crop your photo if you need to, and click "Save" to complete the process. You may add a short caption or description.

If you need to add more photos, repeat the process; when your profile has multiple pictures you need to choose which one to use as your primary profile picture.

b) Transfer photos from Facebook

You may also choose to import photos from Facebook. Under "Profile" and "Add Photos" click "Connect" under the text "Import photos from Facebook".

Facebook's login page will be opened in a new window. Once logged in, click to agree access for ELITESINGLES to access your profile. Now you can see all your albums and select the pictures you want to import. Highlight the pictures and save. To rotate or crop, click "Edit". Please note: any captions from Facebook are also imported alongside the image- these can be changed via the normal edit process.

c) Send photos via email

If you have trouble adding a picture to your profile, please feel free to send the picture to [email protected] and we'll add it for you. Remember to quote the email address you used to register with us, if emailing from a different address.
We recommend that you upload a good selection of photos as it gives you a better chance of potential partners contacting you.
A carefully completed profile is the first step to attract other members:
- "About me" gives other members the basic information about you
- "You should know" gives others an impression of yourself by answering the seven given questions
- "Lifestyle" shows your interests and habits to other members You will find all of this under "My profile".

Please read the following guidelines for answering these questions:
- Do not enter personal contact details such as your telephone number or e-mail address
- Do not enter any advertisements or commercial information
- Do not enter anything that is considered offensive, sexual or racist

Once your entries have been reviewed and should they have been rejected, you will find the following message in your profile:
If the user has chosen to blur out their profile picture, go to their profile and click on "photo release" to request to make the photo visible.
Congratulations on finding your perfect match with Friends4You! To delete your profile and cancel your membership, click on "My account" under your profile and go to "manage profile". Enter you Friends4You password, select "I found a partner" as your reason for leaving us and click the "delete profile" button in the bottom right corner of the page to confirm your cancellation.
Friends4You maintains a high standard of service and we want to make sure that we protect our members from inappropriate or suspicious people.

If you ever feel uncomfortable with another user because you find their details suspicious, inappropriate or offensive, please feel free to report them to us. This is also the case if you see that a member is using our service for commercial purposes or with fraudulent intentions.

The function "Report this person to us" is therefore intended for your own security: by clicking on the bottom left corner of the profile you want to report, you notify us of any misconduct that is not in accordance with our Terms & Conditions. An automated message is triggered and sent to our Saftey Specialist team.

Your notification is confidential and we take the necessary steps to ensuring your safety and maintaining our high standard of service to Friends4You members.
You can simply click the "search" function on the homepage and edit your search preferences. After editing your search criteria, click "refresh list" to receive your updated list of potential partners. If you are a Premium member, you can refine your search criteria to income, education and distance.
Click on the 'Help' button on the top right corner of the page. The 'support' page will come up where you can select your specific issue with a subject/category. Enter your email address, your name and the security code that will be sent directly to your email. You can describe the issue and it will be sent directly to our Friends4You customer care. We will respond to you in the next 24 hours.
To reset your password, click on "Forgot login details" link under the login box on the right corner of the homepage. Please supply your email address and click on "Request password". We will immediately send you an email with a personal access link to your profile for renewal of your password. If you still have problems, don't hesitate to contact Friends4You support.
Friends4You maintains a high standard of security for its users and prohibits any offensive, inappropriate or misleading information. Therefore, we check all added photos manually. We try approve all photos within 24 hours. Only in exceptional cases may this take 48 hours.
If you entered your date of birth incorrectly, please contact Friends4You support for help.
To change your email address, go to "My Profile", click under "My account" and go to "Personal data". There you can edit the email address field.
Go to your profile and click on "My account". If you scroll down to "visibility to other users", you can toggle the option. If you choose not to be visible, you will not appear on the visitors lists of other members who's profiles you have visited.

To see what information your partner suggestions can see, log into your account and click on "Profile". Here you may add or edit information. By clicking "Profile preview" you are able to see exactly how your profile appears to others. To further edit the profile, click "Edit profile".
Just as you want to have a full impression of potential partners, other members are curious about you. We therefore recommend that you fill in as many fields as you feel comfortable with, but you may of course leave certain fields blank if you wish. If you want to hide your entire profile from certain members, you can delete them from the list of recommended partners. For more help on how to do this, see the "Partner Suggestions" topic in the help section.
If your photo has not been uploaded, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

- Our support team has not yet approved the picture. This may take up to 48 hours.
- Technical problems mean that the picture cannot yet be added.
- The image exceeds the 9.7 MB maximum.
- You have sent us the picture via email, and we are currently processing it.

Personality Test & MatchMaker

The Friends4You MatchMaker/Personality test is the basis for finding your perfect match, therefore you cannot change your test results. If you answered as honestly as possible, the test results should be representative of your wants and needs in a partnership. If you would like to change your partner suggestions, adjust your search criteria on your profile. If you really feel like your test results do not represent you, contact the Friends4You support.
Completion of the test generates a detailed analysis of your personality, with graphics and descriptions of your major character traits. The results are based around the five dimensions of your personality and your qualities are discussed in detail. The results can be found under "Profile" and "Personality Profile".
If you have insufficient time to answer any questions, you can of course save your progress to continue another time. Simply click the ‘Save progress & log out' button. After your next login you will return directly to the last point of the test. Only if you do not complete the test within 15 weeks will the data be deleted from our system.
When you've finished the Friends4You MatchMaker/Personality test, you will find them under "Test Results" on your profile.
This overview covers XY of the 30 aspects of your personality that have been assessed in the PARSHIP test. Your personality profile provides further details, covering 24 aspects of your personality.
If you have signed up with us, it will go directly to the Friends4You MatchMaker. It's best to complete the test in one sitting as it will only take you 10 minutes.
If you find you need to stop in the middle, you'll be able to continue it later. When you next log in you will be automatically taken to the point at which you interrupted the test.

Answer as honestly as possible as it will give you the best partner suggestions according to your wants and needs.
The personality test is divided into three sections, in which we ask you questions based on your personality traits, the way you may interact with a partner and your attitude towards relationships. Successful matchmaking relies on you being as honest as you can about your personality, preferences and expectations, so please take the time to complete it carefully and think about your answers. You want to appear as genuine as possible to other users as to ensure compatibility between you and your potential partners.
The Friends4You personality test is the foundation of our matchmaking process. The detailed analysis looks at your personal characteristics in order to suggest partners that could potentially satisfy your wants and needs. The test was developed by the Friends4You team in cooperation with psychologists and relationship experts.

Messages & Communication

You can only exchange private messages with other users if you are a premium member. In "Messages" you can filter your messages by different categories, for example inbox, likes, photo release etc. Here you will find all the conversations you have had with other members. The inbox can be sorted by date.

To find an older message from a particular user, simply click the last message from the person and then you can view the entire conversation between you two.

If you remove a partner from this list, all messages will be lost from that person.
A smile is a small greeting that signals interest. To send one, simply click "Send Smile" on another member's profile
If a user hasn't responded to you, it's not the end of the world. You should also take into consideration the last time that user was online and whether they are an active Friends4You member or not. Don't worry, there are plenty of fish in the sea and we will continue to offer you fantastic potential partners.

We provide a comprehensive list of questions that are constantly changing to facilitate deeper conversation, from which you choose three and send to another member. The questions may focus on how they react in certain situations, how they like to spend their free time, and so on. You only able to send private messages out, if you are a premium member.
If you sent out a private message to a user, it only allows you to get in contact with this person again, if the user replies back.
Your Friends4You inbox allows you to view the messages you have exchanged with other users. Messages will remain in your inbox unless you decide to delete the conversation or on the occasion that you delete your profile in which all your data will be permanently removed from our system.

You are able to delete messages by:
- Selecting the message you wish to delete in your inbox and confirm by clicking on "actions" and scrolling down to "delete conversation". You still find your deleted messages under "Trash".
If you experience difficulties when sending out a message, it is possible that it contains details which only Premium Members are able to share. This includes your telephone number or e-mail address.

Please understand that our free members are unable to disclose their personal contact details either within their profile or messages.

In order to send out your message, simply amend the content accordingly. Please note that our system will check the entire message. Should you therefore reply to a message from a Premium Member who has included their contact details, please remove these before sending out your message.

Should your text however not entail contact details, please contact the Customer Service and supply them with a copy of the message you are intending to send. They will update the automatic filters in order for you to send your reply.

Matches

Friends4You makes sure that we suggest partners that are compatible with your wants and needs based on your MatchMaker/Personality test results and your search criteria. If you're not happy with your suggestions, you can always adjust your search criteria under "search" or if you are a Premium user, you can refine your search based on distance, education level or income.

When you register for Friends4You, there is an option to select the gender of the partners that you're looking for as well as selecting your own gender. It is possible that you may have selected the wrong gender. If you would like to change this, simply go onto your profile, "Manage profile" and edit the "I am looking for a" section.

Your partner suggestions are automatically sorted by date, with the most current at the top. You can also filter your partners by matching points or age. Go to "Matches" and click on "Filter by"; here you are able to choose the sorting method.
If you find a member's profile interesting, you can add the profile to your favourties by clicking the star button next the person's occupation on their profile. Members that you have selected as favourites are then marked with an asterisk in your list of potential partners. You can view all of your favourites under "Matches" and "Favourites". Here you can quickly and easily visit and contact your favourite profiles. To remove a member from your favourites, simply click "Remove".
Generally you will be recommended every member who matches your profile and search criteria. Therefore you will not receive recommendations that do not conform to your search criteria in regards to age settings.
This is where you can view the members that are interested in your profile. This is a premium user function. If you are a basic user, you cannot see your last visitors. You can always upgrade to a Premium membership.

Matching points shows you how well you match with someone. This score is between 0 and 100 points.

The basis for a high score between two personality profiles is a balanced mix of similarities and contrasts (Personality Traits, Interests and Wishes). In addition to the Compatibility Score, there are also your personal priorities and your Search Criteria settings.

In fact, the Compatibility Score is based on the Personality Test. Therefore, you can not have a high Compatibility Score with a member who has not completed his personality test.

Where can I find the Compatibility Score? Every premium user that done the Friends4You Personality Test will see the compatitiilby Score on the right side in each profile within your Recommended Partner´s list. More details about your compability score you find out, when you open a profile: on the lower right side under 'Your compatibility level' you will see your Compatibility Score and your column chart. These illustrations show you, how well your personalities, interests and wishes go. With one click on the field 'Compatibility' you can see in detail each area.
Friends4You's matchmaking system is based on psychological research surrounding relationships and personality.

Your profile is made up of the answer you put down on the Friends4You MatchMaker/personality test. We determine your physical and personal attributes and identify what is important to you for a relationship.

During a more complicated process, we determine how well other members match up to you. In some cases, it may be more advantageous for someone to share the same personality trait or for someone to be slightly different to compliment another personal trait.

You can also narrow down your partner suggestions by editing the search criteria on your profile.
Partner recommendations are in arccordance to your compatibility from the data captured upon signing up
You will receive new partner recommendations based on your test results and search criteria. The amount depends on how active you are as a Friends4You member and how many people we consider to be compatible with you. Our intricate matching system helps us identify members that we think would really suit you, so that you can foster a long-term and happy relationship with someone. You cannot specify how many reccomendations you want, however you can ease the process by slightly broadening your search criteria.
If you have very narrow search criteria, it may be that there are limited people available. In this case, consider broadening your criteria in less important areas (for instance height or distance). When you change your search criteria, we will recalculate your partner suggestions. This may take up to 48 hours, please be patient while we find you new potential partners.
We put a huge effort into designing our personality test and developing a system to best use the results. We've created a multifaceted matchmaking process, based on the personality test and your personal information, to consider psychological and socio-demographic factors when suggesting other singles. We also consider your preferences and search criteria, and we therefore only suggest potential partners whose personalities and preferences best suit you. We're convinced that the best relationships are between people who aren't 100% identical, but enjoy mixture of common denominators and complementary characteristics. This is the prerequisite for a successful, long-lasting relationship.
To see what information your partner suggestions can see, login to your account and click "Profile". Any information you see here is also visible to potential partners. If you click "Enable profile preview" you can see exactly how it looks to other members. You can change the information here as much as you like. Then, as soon as they are manually approved by our staff they will be visible on your profile.

After your Premium Membership term has ended, you revert back to a basic user.

You will still be able to make limited use of our services until you renew your Premium membership contract.
If you are no longer a Premium member, you will not be able to make full use of our service.

Cooling off period
As explained in the terms and conditions for PARSHIP.co.uk: Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulation Act (2000), you are entitled to a eight-day cooling-off period that begins on the date on which you enter the agreement to use PARSHIP's service, (either, by telephone, post, the website or if applicable, interactive digital TV) and ends at the end of 8 working days after you enter into that agreement. During this time you have the right to cancel your contract without penalty.

However, the cooling-off period and the right to cancel do not apply if you begin to use the service before the end of the cooling-off period. Therefore, if you use the service immediately by accessing our website, you will not be able to cancel the agreement.

Automatic renewal
To cancel the automatic renewal of your subscription, while still retaining your profile within our service, please cancel your subscription online or send us a written cancellation by email, fax or letter.

In order to ensure that you are able to enjoy our service without interruptions, your Premium Membership is automatically renewed by the term subscribed to unless you cancel this within the required time frame.

The amount for your Premium subscription is debited via the same payment method as specified during your first order.
Unfortunately it is not possible to pay in monthly instalments. Therefore all subscription payments need to be made in full.

However, please contact the Customer Service should you require to pay in monthly instalments and they will be more then happy to offer an alternative solution.
